Anyone may enter in the Open Class.  

4-H members will find 4-H project entry information on the  
4-H page of this website.  

Printed copies of the 2008 Sherburne County Fair Premium Book are available at various
businesses throughout Sherburne County, as well as the Government Center in Elk River.

2008 Exhibitor Information:
Please bring your Open Class exhibits to the Open Class Building for judging on Wednesday, July
16, beginning at 9:00 am.  Open Class flowers, plants, fruits, vegetables and garden exhibits
must be in place by 6:00 pm for judging at 6:30 pm.  Food must be in place by 8:30 pm; food
judging will take place at 9:00 pm.  All other class exhibits must be in place by 9:00 pm for judging
Thursday from 9:00 am until noon.  Open Class Building will be open until 9:00 pm Thursday;
hours for the rest of the fair are:  Friday and Saturday - 10:00 am-10:00 pm, Sunday - 11:00 am -
9:00 pm.  The fair board reserves the right to open buildings earlier if extreme heat is expected.

Please remember that all Fair Board members, including officers and committee chair and
contacts, are volunteers who hold regular jobs.  Please leave voice mail messages with your
name, a short concise message, a return phone number and the best time to reach you.  Your
calls or e-mails will be returned as soon as possible.

DIAPER DERBY
The 2008 Diaper Derby Crawling & Toddler Race will be held on Friday, July 18 at 2:00 pm at the
Free Stage.  Register on the day of the event in the Fair Office before 1:30 pm.  After 1:30 pm,
registration will be at the Free Stage.

RULES:
1.          Crawling race contestants must crawl the entire length of the carpet.  If they stand, they will
        be disqualified.
2.          Toddler contestants must walk or run.  If they get down to crawl, they will be disqualified.
3.          Race course is approximately 15' long.  Parent or handler may place contestant on starting
        line.  Other parent or handler can be on the finish line to coax contestant.  No coaxing from
        sidelines.
4.          A limited number of contestants will be allowed in each race.
5.          Prizes will be awarded.  
6.          Decisions of the judges are final.

KIDS' PEDAL TRACTOR PULL
The 2008 Kids' Pedal Tractor Pull will be held on Sunday, July 20 at 3:00 pm.  

RULES:
1.          Contest will be for children ages 4 to 11 years old.
2.          The child will enter the class (1/2 hour before race) for the age he/she is in, day of the pull.
3.          Whoever pulls the sled the greatest distance in his/her age group will be a winner.
4.          Each contestant must have parent's or guardian's signature.
5.          First and second place winners of sanctioned pulls will be able to advance to the
       Minnesota State Pedal Tractor Pull.
6.          Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each group.  Participation
       awards will be given to each puller.
7.          No entry fee required - 15 per class maximum.
8.          All equipment, including pedal tractors, will be furnished.
